Freudenberg Performance Materials (Freudenberg) has acquired Foshan United Medical Ltd. (UMT). The sellers are UMT founder Dr Xiaodong Wang and a private Chinese founding partner. UMT is a leading full-service supplier of advanced wound care products. The company with headquarters and state-of-the-art production facilities in Foshan, China, has a workforce of some 200. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

BASF Group’s sales in the second quarter of 2026 amounted to €17.2 billion, €2.4 billion above the level of the prior-year period. This was largely attributable to considerably higher prices (plus 11.5 percent) and volume growth (plus 7.3 percent). Production has begun at the new hydrogen peroxide megaplant operated by Fuhua and licensed by Evonik in Leshan, Sichuan Province, China. With an annual capacity of 200 kilotons, the facility is one of the largest in the region for industrial-grade hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). Operations began on June 18, 2026, with in-specification production achieved in just a few days.

The Amsterdam District Court on 29 July 2026 dismissed the damage claim brought by Shell in its entirety against Clariant and three other defendants. The Court’s ruling confirms Clariant’s position that Shell suffered no harm attributable to Clariant’s conduct. Clariant has consistently maintained that the relevant conduct produced no effect on the market. Clariant stated it will continue to defend itself vigorously in the remaining proceedings in the Netherlands and Germany.
