Sanyu USA, Inc., announced the promotion of Mark Beaver to President. This appointment follows his 18 years of service to the company, during which he played a significant role in expanding the company’s footprint, forging strategic partnerships and providing technical service to existing customers.
Beaver succeeds Katsumi Ishida, who has served as President for 14 years. Mr. Ishida will continue to support Sanyu USA, Inc. in an advisory capacity, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing access to his expertise.

The acquisition of Foster Corporation enhances GEON’s participation in the high-value medical market. Currently, GEON offers rigid and flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) solutions, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) solutions, and contract manufacturing services to healthcare customers. Its Clinton, Tennessee, facility is ISO 13485:2016 certified, which is the medical industry’s international standard for the manufacture of medical devices. Responding to the rapid growth and increasing importance in the global battery and EV sectors, Shin-Etsu Silicones of America (SESA: A U.S. subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., Japan) showcased their SDP-6560 A/B liquid-dispensed gap filling, non-adhesive curing silicone thermal interface material (TIM) at the largest battery technology expo in North America, the 2024 Battery Show held in Detroit. Part of the high performing SDP Series, which are two-part, room-temperature cure silicone-based materials, the product acts as a thermal interface gap filler−providing exceptional thermal conductivity and excellent insulation for electronics applications requiring thermal dissipation.

The Times of India reports that India’s natural rubber (NR) production has grown 8.6% from 7.89 lakh ton in FY21-22 to 8.57 lakh ton in FY23-24 with industry estimating it will hit 8.82 lakh ton in FY24-25.

Shashi Singh, president, All India Rubber Industry Association (AIRIA), said: “By 2030, NR production in India should hit one million ton, but consumption has been growing significantly too. Currently NR consumption in India is 14.16 lakh ton which is estimated to go up by 5% and close at 14.86 lakh ton by end of FY24-25.”
