Avient reports positive first quarter

Avient Corporation announced its first quarter results for 2026. First quarter GAAP earnings per share (EPS) were $0.61 compared to ($0.22) in the prior year quarter. The company noted that first quarter 2026 GAAP EPS includes special items of $0.06 and intangible amortization expense of $0.16.

First quarter 2026 adjusted EPS was $0.83 compared to $0.76 in the prior year quarter, reflecting 9% growth in adjusted EPS.

Dunlop conducts smallholder support program toward sustainable natural rubber

The initiative, called the Traceability and Transparency Pilot Project, has been carried out since 2022 in South Sumatra, Indonesia, through Dunlop’s procurement subsidiary Sumitomo Rubber Singapore Pte. Ltd. and supply chain partner Halcyon Agri Corporation Ltd. and its Indonesian subsidiary PT Hok Tong.

The program focused on supporting smallholder rubber farmers by improving cultivation practices, providing agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, and strengthening traceability and transparency in the natural rubber supply chain.

The final installment of a three-part scientific State of Knowledge (SoK) paper series on tire wear emissions concludes that, while the understanding of tire wear emissions has advanced, current data to quantify human health impacts attributable to tire wear emissions remains inconclusive. Supported by the Tire Industry Project (TIP)—part of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)—the SoK series represent the most comprehensive review of global science on tire wear emissions to date, analyzing more than 850 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Bridgestone & Penske release findings of Decarbonization Initiative

Bridgestone and Penske Transportation Solutions (Penske) announced the findings of the first phase of their shared initiative, the Decarbonization Lab (Lab). The Lab was designed to identify and validate commercially viable, near-term solutions that help reduce CO₂ emissions for commercial fleets under real-world conditions. Penske and Bridgestone plan to continue refining their approach and testing additional solutions in a second phase of the Lab in 2026.
