Continental takes next steps towards sustainable operations

In accordance with Continental’s sustainability ambition, the group sector ContiTech has taken the next concrete steps towards transforming its own production facilities into sustainable factories. ContiTech recently installed a new PV system in Timișoara, Romania. Other locations are expected to follow in the coming months. Furthermore, the group sector has chosen three production facilities worldwide as pilot projects to find the best approach for carbon neutral operations.

Continental and Aurora finalize design of world’s first scalable autonomous trucking system

Continental and Aurora Innovation announced they have achieved a key development milestone to commercialize autonomous trucks at scale. The companies have finalized the design and architecture of the future fallback system and hardware of the Aurora Driver – an SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Level 4 autonomous driving system – that Continental plans to start production of in 2027. The finalized hardware design comes less than a year after the companies entered an industry-first partnership aimed at high-volume manufacturing of autonomous trucking systems.

Klas Dahlberg currently holds the position as Head of Business Area NIBE Climate Solutions. He has been with NIBE since 2016 and he has been responsible for NIBE Climate Solutions since 2018. Prior to joining NIBE, he had a successful international career spanning over a 30-year period with the Scania group, with his last position being responsible for the division of Buses & Coaches. LyondellBasell edges closer to meeting its 2030 renewable energy target

The company signed a long-term PPA for 125 MW of renewable electricity sourced from TotalEnergies’ Brazoria Solar project in Brazoria County, Texas. The 15-year agreement is expected to generate approximately 300,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of solar power annually, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of more than 28,000 American homes. The project is expected to commence operations at the end of 2025. This is the company’s second PPA with TotalEnergies.

BASF announces management changes

Effective at the end of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on April 25, 2024, Dr. Markus Kamieth (53) will take over as Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE. This was decided by the Supervisory Board in its meeting on December 20, 2023. Markus Kamieth has been a member of the Board of Executive Directors since 2017. He succeeds Dr. Martin Brudermüller (62), who has been Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors since 2018 and has been a member of the Board of Executive Directors since 2006.
