Purdue University continues to advance semiconductor workforce development by renewing a strong partnership between industry leader Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and the university’s Center for Secure Microelectronics Ecosystem.
The renewal of TSMC’s membership in CSME represents the desire by both sides to expand their collaborative scope through additional workforce development and research programs through 2031. CSME started in 2021 as a first-of-its-kind global partnership of academia; industry, including TSMC; and government to advance research and workforce development in designing secure microelectronics.

Heading into the 101st Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Yokohama Tire is looking to repeat as King of the Mountain. The tiremaker, which overpowered the field last year on ADVAN® tires (overall champion, 10 podium finishes, four division wins and four of the top five overall finishers), will field 27 drivers in multiple divisions during the 12.42.-mile legendary “Race to the Clouds,” which takes place June 25 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. announced that riders equipped with their high-performance DUNLOP Brand tires won the title of Series Champion in every class (“450SX,” “250SX East,” “250SX West”) at the 2023 AMA Supercross Championship, locking in their victories at the final race of the tournament, which was held this past May 13 in Salt Lake City (USA). This marks the fourteenth consecutive year in which riders using DUNLOP tires have dominated in every class at the AMA Supercross Championship.

The six-city, 10-round, adrenaline-filled series is headlined by the Group E class, which features the world’s fastest electric race car, the FC1-X. Nitrocross events integrate enormous jumps with massive, banked turns on a variety of track surfaces all in a single lap. Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) hires Taylor Smith as their new Research Development Technician. Taylor joined SSP last August and is part of a team that is led by R&D Manager Sarah Lewis and includes Amelia Berry, Product Development Chemist, and Gary Falchi, Applications Engineer. Recently, Taylor performed laboratory research for an SSP technical article that will appear in the June 2023 edition of Rubber World magazine.
