Ecore International has announced the acquisition of 360 Tire Recycling Group, a leading tire recycling management company. This strategic alliance strengthens Ecore’s position in tire and buffings collection, while aiding in the procurement of raw materials for the company’s innovative flooring and surfacing products. It also elevates both Ecore and 360 Tire Recycling Group as leaders in the world’s transition to a circular rubber economy.

Tire producers are in trouble with the Ontario agency that regulates recycling in the province, and could soon face fines of $200,000 or more. The orders are significant because they include threats of financial penalties that could hit any or all the companies that bring tires into Ontario. That includes the big-name tire manufacturers, such as Goodyear, BFGoodrich, Michelin and Pirelli, as well as the major auto makers, such as GM, Ford, Toyota and Honda.

Huntsman Corporation announced that it has donated $140,200 to several nonprofit organizations assisting with earthquake relief in Turkey, where the company’s Polyurethanes business operates a specialty systems facility in Istanbul. The company donation is in addition to $70,100 contributed by Huntsman associates worldwide. With the company double-matching the employees’ donations, the combined total impact toward earthquake relief is more than $210,000.

The heavyweight machinery traveled on a total of 22 trucks from Munich to Bremgarten (about 15 kilometers west of Zurich): one for the machine bed, each platen, one per two tiebars and one each for many other components. After 12 weeks of set-up, the MX 4000 went online on the requested target date and replaced an older machine with a clamping force of 27,000 kN that was energy-inefficient, offered limited technical options, had only a simple linear robot and had insufficient energy efficiency.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that in March it launched sales gradually in North America and Australia of GEOLANDAR A/T XD, a new tire in its GEOLANDAR brand of tires for SUVs and pickup trucks. The GEOLANDAR A/T XD is an all-terrain tire designed for use especially on large commercial vehicles, such as full-size pickup trucks. It is being made available in 28 sizes.
