The Supervisory Board of Brenntag SE appointed Jens Birgersson as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Management Board effective September 1, 2025. Jens Birgersson most recently served as President and CEO of Rockwool Group, Denmark. Prior to that he has held various management positions in international market leading companies of different industries. Jens Birgersson succeeds Dr Christian Kohlpaintner, who decided not to renew his contract as already communicated in November 2024, and who is stepping down from his position on August 31, 2025.

WACKER is responding to rising demand for high-quality specialty silicones in China by expanding its production capacities at its Zhangjiagang site. The Group held a ceremony to celebrate the mechanical completion of the facilities. Going forward, the new production complex will manufacture silicone fluids, silicone emulsions and silicone elastomer gels. Production is to be ramped up over the coming months. As planned, WACKER has invested a low three-digit million euro amount in the expansion project.

The European Commission has officially launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of tires for passenger cars and light lorries from China, following a formal complaint by the EU tire industry. The probe aims to determine whether Chinese manufacturers are selling tires in the European market at unfairly low prices, potentially harming domestic producers.

For the fourth year in a row, RDAbbott will host “Manufacturing with Silicone Rubber,” a popular and comprehensive workshop with a fabricator’s point-of-view. The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) and its members express strong support for H.R.3401 to strengthen domestic tire retreading. The bill, reintroduced by U.S. Representatives Darin LaHood (R-IL) and Emilia Strong Sykes (D-OH), proposes tax credits for fleet purchasers of American-made retreaded commercial tires, aimed at strengthening domestic manufacturing, job creation, and sustainable tire solutions.
