Using the sustainably-sourced monomers in this year’s Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 race tires is the latest example of Bridgestone’s efforts to prove and accelerate the use of sustainable materials and technologies through motorsports and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
All Firestone Firehawk race tires for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES are manufactured at Bridgestone’s ISCC PLUS-certified Advanced Tire Production Center (ATPC) in Akron, Ohio. The facility was awarded the certification in 2022 for its transparency and traceability of sustainable raw materials including bio, bio-circular, and circular-based synthetic rubber.

The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers, Inc. (IISRP) honored the late Daniel P. French, former Chairman and CEO of French Oil Mill Machinery Company, with the prestigious General Award at its 64th Annual General Meeting on May 7, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. This award recognized Mr. French’s significant contributions, over his more than five-decade tenure at French, a family-owned business founded by his grandfather over 120 years ago.

Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announces its plan to expand motorsports tire production capacity at its Mishima Plant in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Yokohama Rubber will invest about ¥3.8 billion in a new line that will produce 18-inch and larger motorsports tires, expanding the plant’s capacity for motorsports tires by 35%. Construction will begin in the third quarter of 2024, and production on the new line is planned to begin near the end of 2026 and be brought up to full capacity in the third quarter of 2027

With ENGEL’s new fiscal year starting April 2024, their sales structure and internal processes have been modified to align with customers’ needs. ENGEL has defined three major regions across the globe: the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Vanessa Malena will lead the Americas.

The new sales structure aims to provide enhanced support to representatives by enabling direct access to business development teams in their respective regions.

Bostik announced that production at the Schwepnitz location will be gradually relocated and the branch will be closed by the end of 2025.

This measure continues the strategy of concentrating technological focuses at individual production locations. The shift primarily affects the PU foam and sealant portfolio for the bonding, sealing and filling segment. In the future, silicones will be produced in Borgholzhausen (Germany) and Oosterhout (Netherlands) and PU assembly foams in Buftea (Romania).

The Division is accepting proposals for papers on the chemistry, technology and science of rubber and allied substances. Presentations on industry trends, challenges and opportunities are also accepted.

BFGoodrich will introduce more than 100 sizes over 24 months, starting with 13 sizes available in May. The phased launch will continue with 17 additional sizes in August and five more sizes in October. An additional 52 sizes arrive in 2025 and 19 sizes in 2026.
