On December 20th, the notice administrator in the South Carolina aqueous film-forming foam multi-district litigation (“AFFF MDL”) requested an extension until January 3, 2024, to file with the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina the list of public water systems that have opted out of the settlement class.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Companies have until December 22nd to exercise their walk-away rights based on the number of opt outs from the class. The Companies have sufficient insight into this process to determine that they remain in favor of the settlement and do not intend to exercise that right.

Bridgestone Retail Operations (Bridgestone), a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, surprised youth from 12 Boys & Girls Clubs located across the country this holiday season by donating new passenger vans that will give more kids and teens access to high-impact, out-of-school programming. Bridgestone announced it has marked its most successful year of integration of Bridgestone Fleet Care tire monitoring services in the U.S., surpassing 200 million annual tire pressure readings in 2023. This marks the company’s highest annual total of tire pressure readings to date across its truck & bus radial (TBR) and off-the-road (OTR) businesses.

Sumitomo Rubber USA, LLC (Sumitomo) is recalling certain Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires with size 265/70R17 115T . The recall is due to a manufacturing defect that could cause the tires to fail, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall also includes Wildpeak HT02 tires with size LT235/85R16 120/116S. The affected tires were manufactured between June 1, 2022, and September 30, 2022.
