WACKER, the Munich-based chemical company, will be presenting a selection of silicone products for battery technology and electromobility at this year’s Battery Show Europe. The focus will be on the potting compounds ELASTOSIL® CM 181 and ELASTOSIL® CM 185. The latter is a recent development which will be premiered at the show. Both products boost battery safety in electric vehicles. They ensure the reliable operation of battery cells and prevent fire from spreading in the event of thermal runaway in a cell. Battery Show Europe will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, from June 18 to June 20.

Röhm has significantly expanded its production capacity at the Wallingford plant in Connecticut (USA) in June 2024. The innovative improvement was possible by modifying and redeploying an existing production line at the Wallingford site, providing customers with faster delivery and meeting increasing demand globally.

The Detroit Rubber Group will hold a Fishing Outing July 11 at the Toledo Beach Marina in La Salle, MI. Attendees are requested to arrive at 6:30 a.m., and the boat is scheduled to depart at 7 a.m. and return at noon. The cost to participate in the event is $195 per person, and this price includes the outing itself and not any extra services, extra gear or lodging accommodations. Event sponsorships are available, with the suggested sponsorship amount being $100. All proceeds from the event go to the Detroit Rubber Group Scholarship Program.

– Anne Windberg Baarup took over the management of the sustainability department for Continental’s group sector ContiTech on June 1, 2024. She is now responsible for the strategic direction and global management of sustainability activities for the company’s industrial business. In her new position, she reports directly to Claus Peter Spille, head of Operations at ContiTech. Baarup has been working for Continental for eight years in various functions. She has extensive experience in the areas of materials technology, HR and organizational development. Most recently, the 46-year-old was employed as head of Material Technology Solutions for Continental’s tire business, where she actively promoted the research into and implementation of sustainable materials.
