The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) and its member companies stand in support of  H.R.8578, the Retreaded Truck Tire Jobs, Supply Chain Security and Sustainability Act introduced by U.S. Representatives Darin LaHood (R-IL) and Emilia Strong Sykes (D-OH). The bill would incentivize investments in retreaded commercial tires by providing tax credits for fleet purchases of U.S. retreaded commercial tires.

“The Michelin X® Works D retread is designed specifically for the construction, energy, concrete and logging industries,” said Pierluigi Cumo, Vice President of B2B Marketing for Michelin North America, Inc. “These vehicles operate in aggressive and mixed-use environments, driving off pavement at least 10% of the time on a daily basis and subjecting tires to any number of harsh conditions.”

Apollo Tires (US) Inc. (Apollo Tires) is recalling certain Vredestein Hitrac, Quatrac, and Quatrac Pro+ tires. A contaminated compound may cause the steel belts to separate.

Apollo Tyres Ltd, has expanded Vredestein’s range for premium and luxury SUVs. Vredestein Pinza HT (highway terrain), a global product, has been introduced for the premium SUVs in India in 16 – 18 inch sizes, while the existing Vredestein Ultrac Vorti i has been expanded for luxury SUVs by introducing it in 21 and 22 inches.

At the DKT exhibition Walther Trowal will present the new PFAS-free anti-friction lacquers CSIP13 and CSIPN18 for sealing components made from elastomers or plastic – for example, O-rings or flat seals. Even though the new lacquers contain no PFAS, they have the same low friction coefficient as PTFE-based coating materials and offer the same life expectancy. C.S.I. developed the new lacquer specifically for the Rotamat coaters, exhibited at the DKT by Walther Trowal.

Cabot Corporation has achieved a platinum rating from EcoVadis, the highest recognition available, for the fourth consecutive year. The platinum rating recognizes Cabot’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts and places Cabot among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis. The company was awarded this distinction during the GM 32nd Annual Supplier of the Year event. Performance, innovation, cultural alignment with GM’s values, and having a commitment to achieving GM’s ambitious goals are what earned Bridgestone this honor. Bridgestone was one of 86 companies out of GM’s network of more than 20,000 suppliers to achieve this award, marking Bridgestone’s ninth consecutive and 22nd overall recognition from GM.
