LSR 2025 brings together professionals from various industries to discuss timely topics in LSR, including new chemistry, novel manufacturing techniques, emerging technologies, and silicone applications in various industries. Some twenty professionals from around the world will be presenting at the conference, with topics ranging from research on LSR processing, to silicone in medical device componentry, to conductive silicone using carbon nano tubes, to advances in LSR sustainability, and 3D printing. Fictiv announced GlobalFlex, an innovative injection molding solution engineered to mitigate global supply chain disruptions and optimize lowest landed costs. GlobalFlex integrates tooling inserts produced in China with Fictiv’s mold frames, assembled across next-generation manufacturing facilities in China, the U.S., and Mexico. The new offering leverages the speed and cost efficiencies of overseas production while enabling manufacturers to rapidly pivot to domestic production in response to shifts in demand or tariffs, for example.

Teknor Apex has successfully passed the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) audit by the certifying body DEKRA Audit (Netherlands) at its sites in Belgium and Germany. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced the new Cooper® WORK Series™ Regional Haul All-position (RHA) 2 tire for super-regional and regional all-position commercial vehicle applications. The new Cooper WORK Series RHA 2 is SmartWay* verified and offers long miles to removal and even-wear for the growing super-regional commercial vehicle category.

In an effort to provide advanced education on the processing and property advantages of liquid silicone rubber (LSR), Shin-Etsu Silicones of America (SESA: A U.S. subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., Japan) recently conducted its largest ever LIMS™ (Liquid Injection Molding System) Processing Training Course at their 7,000 ft2 state-of-the-art LIMS Technical Center (LTC) in Akron, Ohio. The hands-on training event took place over three days and was attended by over 30 industry customers and 15 supplier partners.

The WACKER Group is showcasing its new silicone sealant ELASTOSIL® eco 7770 P at the European Coatings Show 2025. Developed for construction and sanitary applications, the condensation-curing product is especially suitable for natural stone applications. The sealant’s special features include high resistance to mold and mildew combined with a low fungicide content and a very-low-emission classification in accordance with the guidelines of the German Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation (GEV). ELASTOSIL® eco 7770 P is manufactured in a resource-efficient manner. It is the first silicone sealant that WACKER is offering exclusively as an eco-product. The European Coatings Show will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from March 25 to 27, 2025.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it has begun supplying its ADVAN Sport EV tires as original equipment for the new Lynk & Co Z10 sedan launched by Lynk & Co, a joint venture between China’s Geely Auto Group and Sweden’s Volvo Car Group, in China in September 2024. The tire size is 245/50R19 105W.
