Cambodia looks to increase tire making plants for domestic production

The Phnom Penh Post reports that two companies are assessing site plans to build a tire factory in Cambodia, amid the operation of three tire factories. According to the Cambodian Oknha Association (COA), Cambodia continues to export thousands of tons of rubber every year although there are tire making factories in special economic zones in Svay Rieng, Sihanoukville and Kratie.

USW members ratify four-year first contract at Kumho Tire

The United Steelworkers (USW) announced that members voted to ratify a four-year first contract covering about 325 workers at Kumho Tire.
“The membership at Kumho Tire fought for years to win the rights and benefits of a fair union contract,” said USW International President Tom Conway. “Thanks to their solidarity and the hard work of our bargaining committee, they achieved that goal.”

Cooper Standard announced the appointment of MaryAnn Peterson Kanary to senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary effective August 7, 2023. RICO Group names Thomas Aichberger as CEO

With the completion of the sale to Semperit, Thomas Aichberger took over the CEO position of the RICO Group. The graduated engineer can look back on around two decades of experience in global production companies and their supply chains. He most recently spent five years as the Manager of Semperit’s purchasing department and before that held engineering and management positions at the automotive supplier Nemak and the mining group Sandvik.
