The Phnom Penh Post reports that two companies are assessing site plans to build a tire factory in Cambodia, amid the operation of three tire factories. According to the Cambodian Oknha Association (COA), Cambodia continues to export thousands of tons of rubber every year although there are tire making factories in special economic zones in Svay Rieng, Sihanoukville and Kratie.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2023 Apollo Tyres Ltd, on a consolidated basis, reported a revenue of Rs 6245 crores. Company’s European Operations performed better than the market under a tough scenario, while in India the focus remained on higher margin products and markets.

The United Steelworkers (USW) announced that members voted to ratify a four-year first contract covering about 325 workers at Kumho Tire.

Cooper Standard announced the appointment of MaryAnn Peterson Kanary to senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary effective August 7, 2023. Based at Cooper Standard’s headquarters in Northville, Mich., Kanary will lead the legal and compliance functions for the Company and report directly to Jeffrey Edwards, chairman and CEO, Cooper Standard. Based in Mannheim, Germany, Cooper Standard Technical Rubber (CSTR) offers versatile sheeting, compounding and flooring solutions. The sale was finalized on July 31, 2023. Terms of the sale were not disclosed
