Chinaplas postponed until 2023 due to Covid

The 35th CHINAPLAS has been postponed in view of the latest COVID development and further tightening of pandemic control measures in Shanghai and other provinces of China. After careful consideration and consultation, the 35th CHINAPLAS originally scheduled from 25-28 April 2022 at National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, will be postponed to 17-20 April 2023, and the show venue will be changed to Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center in Shenzhen. In the meantime, the organizer is pleased to announce that the CHINAPLAS Virtual Show 2022: Innovative Plastics & Rubber Technology Connects the World, an online gathering for plastics and rubber industries, shall be held on 25 May – 14 Jun, 2022 to facilitate business exchanges and cooperation between suppliers and global buyers during the prime trade season in the 2nd quarter of the year.

Eastman completes sale of adhesive resin business to Synthomer

Eastman Chemical Company announced that it and certain of its subsidiaries have completed the previously reported sale of its adhesives resins business to Synthomer plc. The sale included the hydrocarbon resins (including Eastman Impera tire resins), pure monomer resins, polyolefin polymers, rosins and dispersions, and oleochemical and fatty-acid based resins product lines, all of which were previously part of Eastman’s Additives & Functional Products segment.

Malaysia’s RISDA launches e-SRM to boost productivity of growers

he Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) will launch an online application known as the “Sistem Smallholders Rubber Market (e-SRM)” to boost productivity among smallholders. Chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Mohd Sharif said the application would coordinate the work process in the field and ensure the management and monitoring of mature rubber plantations could be implemented more efficiently and in real time.
