IISRP moves 62nd AGM from St. Petersburg to Lisbon

The IISRP Executive Committee has decided to change the host city of the next 62nd AGM, which was scheduled to take place in the city of Saint Petersburg, from May 16 to 19, 2022, will take hold from September 12 to 15, 2022 in the city of Lisbon, Portugal.
In a statement released by the IISRP the executive committee stated, “Together with the rest of the world, we are horrified and saddened by the news of the invasion of Ukraine, and we look forward to a safe return to peace as soon as possible.”

Nokian Tyres withdraws financial guidance for 2022 due to Russian sanctions

The Russian military actions in Ukraine and the consequent sanctions have caused significant uncertainty related to Russia, to the functionality of the Russian financial and payment system, and to the Russian ruble exchange rate. Therefore the Board of Directors of Nokian Tyres plc has decided to withdraw the Company’s financial guidance for 2022 published on February 8, 2022. Due to the prevailing uncertainties, the Board is not in a position to give a new guidance at this moment.

BASF Group reports strong sales and earnings for 2021

EBITDA before special items of €11.3 billion in 2021 was higher by €3.9 billion and EBITDA of €11.4 billion exceeded the prior-year figure by €4.9 billion.
At €7.8 billion, income from operations (EBIT) before special items more than doubled compared with 2020. This represented an increase of 67 percent compared with the pre-pandemic level in 2019. BASF’s positive earnings development was mainly driven by the Chemicals and Materials segments. The Surface Technologies and Industrial Solutions segments also contributed considerably to the strong recovery.

Koshiro Kudo to become new president of Asahi Kasei
