Avient Corporation announced the launch of its latest mold release additive for high-temperature polymers. Formulated without intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), this new non-PFAS additive can be used to enhance the manufacturing processes of high-pressure injection molding. Part of the Colorant Chromatics™ portfolio of high-temperature polymer additives, Evoluscend™ non-PFAS mold release additive is an innovative solution for boosting production efficiency and product quality for manufacturers.

Michelin North America, Inc. has made a $50 million investment at American Synthetic Rubber Company (ASRC) to construct a natural gas boiler facility. The new facility will significantly reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.f

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (Toyo Tires®) announces Wally Holst as the new director of sales, eastern division. Kenny Fredrick, who previously held the position, will be retiring after more than 10 years with the company and over 35 years in the tire industry.
With more than 27 years of experience in the tire industry, Wally Holst will bring the leadership and deep understanding of Toyo’s customer base essential for managing the eastern sales division. Returning to the company after 11 years, Holst previously served as the Toyo regional sales manager for car channel sales.
“Toyo Tires has always held a special place internally for me and I am excited to return,” said Wally Holst, director of sales, eastern division, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “I look forward to rejoining Team Toyo as we collectively propel the company forward.”

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., and its Singapore subsidiary Yokohama Rubber Singapore Pte. Ltd., held a “Suppliers’ Day” for suppliers of natural rubber in Singapore in this past July. The event was part of Yokohama Rubber’s efforts to promote procurement of sustainable natural rubber, facilitating the exchange of information and establishing a common awareness of supply chain issues. The July 2024 event was the fourth “Suppliers’ Day” held by the company, following events in 2016, 2018, and 2022.

Singer Industrial announces it has acquired Winnipeg-based MEP Brothers — a supplier of industrial and hydraulic hose, gaskets and environment spill response products. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

MEP Brothers will support Singer Industrial’s customers in the Canadian markets and will continue to be led by past owners Jeff and Jamie Gural.

Continental will present its new N7 air spring systems for commercial vehicle applications from September 10 to 14 at Automechanika (booth FOR.0 A03), the most important industry and trade show for the automotive aftermarket. The technology company is using the Frankfurt trade show to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness and high performance of its N7 air springs for the aftermarket, fleet, haulage and workshop customers.

Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, Sumitomo Rubber Group’s European sales company announced that they have begun supplying FALKEN “AZENIS RS820” tires to Audi S3. The FALKEN “AZENIS RS820” was designed with accurate handling, stability and control under all driving conditions in mind. The “AZENIS RS820” features an asymmetric tread pattern with four circumferential tread grooves. An improved shoulder design offers increased contact with the road and enhanced lateral stability on dry roads.

RPM International Inc. announced that Matthew E. Schlarb has been appointed vice president – investor relations and sustainability and Paul R. Darwin as vice president – procurement for RPM, effective July 19, 2024.
