Since 1 February 2024, Arburg’s subsidiary in Taichung, Taiwan, has had a new Managing Director. Mitchell Yang has taken over from Michael Huang, who successfully established the subsidiary in 2015 and has been growing it ever since. Yang and the company’s Taiwanese customers can rely on a strong, competent local team with a comprehensive infrastructure.

RPM International Inc. officially opened the doors to its new Innovation Center of Excellence in Greensboro, North Carolina in January. This 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is the first shared research and development center for RPM companies. It is designed to foster partnership and harness collective expertise among RPM companies to accelerate innovation for their customers. The facility represents a continuation of the increased collaboration that has been developed through MAP 2025 initiatives.

Covestro has published its climate neutrality targets for scope 3 emissions, completing its climate strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As a short-term goal, the company plans to reduce greenhouse gases by 10 million metric tons by 2035. This corresponds to a drop in emissions of 30 percent compared to the base year 2021, with some growth-related emissions through 2035 included in the calculation. In the long-term, Covestro plans to be climate-neutral in terms of scope 3 emissions by 2050.

As President and CEO of Marvel Entertainment, Mr. Cuneo orchestrated the legendary turnaround of a just-out-of-bankruptcy, struggling superhero franchise to an entertainment industry powerhouse, with the stock price rising from a low of $0.96 to $54 per share paid by Disney in 2009. Mr. Cuneo’s distinguished career also includes such roles as President and CEO of Remington Products, President of Black & Decker’s Security Hardware Group, and President of Bristol Myers Squibb pharmaceuticals group in Canada.

The new 52,000-square-foot facility will initially house new technologies and equipment purposefully designed to streamline material flow and increase manufacturing efficiencies of the company’s diverse product lines. With the addition of the new facility, Rubberlite’s campus now encompasses nearly 500,000 square feet spread over an entire city block in downtown Huntington, West Virginia.

The German automobile club ADAC took a close look at 16 current 215/55 R17 models – including the Goodride Solmax 1 for the first time. The summer tire from Chinese manufacturer ZC Rubber scored well in several criteria. The Goodride Solmax 1 also outperformed some much more expensive products from established European brands in the overall ranking.

Sumitomo Rubber North America, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., announces the promotion of Rick Zimmerman to Director of Original Equipment for both four-wheel and two-wheel businesses.

An avid automotive and motorcycle enthusiast, Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance from the University of Akron. He’s been with SRNA since February 2013, focusing his time on motorcycle OE throughout the entirety of his tenure.

The Chinaplas exhibit is an Allrounder 470 H with a clamping force of 1,000 kN and a size 290 injection unit in the “Comfort” performance variant. It is also equipped with an Arburg servo hydraulic system (ASH) as standard.
