Continental Tire introduces new General Tire 19.5″ drive and steer tires

Continental is introducing to its truck tire portfolio new 19.5” rim size drive and steer tires developed with the needs of class 4 and 5 vehicles in mind.
These tires were specifically developed to fit the needs of class 4 and 5 vehicles and meet the needs of different vocations. Class 4 and 5 vehicles made up 2.5 million of the commercial vehicle registration in 2022 and handle up to 14,0001 lbs. – 19,500 lbs.

Ford joins leading companies to call for federal investment in clean aluminum

Amid plummeting primary aluminum production in the U.S., the Department of Energy must invest in American-made clean aluminum to retain and create manufacturing jobs, reduce industrial emissions, and grow a vitally important industry. That’s according to a letter sent by Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Pepsi Co., Ball Corp., Rivian, SunPower and eight more leading companies to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer Granholm. The letter says that by using investments from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to expand and secure an affordable supply of clean energy, the Biden administration can modernize and grow this industry, rather than letting American-made primary aluminum disappear.
