Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Arup Saha Deuri, the Head of Materials and Compound (R&D) at the BKT Bhuj plant and a renowned Indian rubber technologist. Dr. Deuri passed away on February 17, 2023, at the age of 62, due to liver issues.

Nokian Tyres launched the FAST RACE, BIG CHANGE sustainable tire innovation challenge last year to find new solutions for more sustainable tires. Nokian Tyres received almost 50 applications from 18 different countries, and from them a team of Nokian Tyres experts chose four finalists. At the finals event held in Lapland this January, the jury awarded Reselo AB from Sweden with the winning place. Reselo’s innovative renewable rubber made from residue birch bark convinced the judges with its versatility and future potential.

Wickert Maschinenbau unveils the world’s fastest heating-cooling press at JEC World in Paris. The composite press with a heating platen size of 600 x 600 mm and a pressing force of 25 t excels with heating and cooling rates of up to 50 K/min. Standard presses are available for temperatures up to 450 ºC.
Their main application is the processing of high-performance thermoplastics in the aerospace industry, but they are also used to manufacture membrane electrode assemblies (MEA) for fuel cells.
