Scrap Tire Research and Education Foundation (STREF), based in Washington, DC. STREF has been awarded US$3,778,326 to develop EPDs for the tire recycling industry. This project focuses on creating a product category rule (PCR) for tire recycling, aiming to fill a gap in the industry’s data on environmental impacts.

The project will highlight the use of ground tire rubber (GTR) from recycled tires as a low-carbon modifier in asphalt mixtures. GTR’s inclusion in asphalt helps extend pavement life and maintain smoother surfaces, improving vehicle fuel efficiency and reducing overall environmental impacts.

NEXEN TIRE announced that the tire manufacturer received OEM approval for the new high-end Porsche Cayenne Sports SUV that will be equipped with the N’FERA SPORT SUV tires.

The N’FERA SPORT SUV is a premium tire for tailored SUVs made at the NEXEN TIRE European plant. The company supplies its tires for new cars and has asymmetrical patterns that are appropriate for high-speed driving and excellent drainage performance thanks to a 3+1 wide groove.

Resin Solutions, LLC, has announced a 25 U.S. cents/lb or 0.50 €/Kg price increase across all products and regions for its hydroxy terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) product line sold under the tradename Poly bd®. The increase is effective for all deliveries on and after August 15, 2024.

Flexsys announced it will increase prices for all Insoluble Sulfur, 6PPD and 4-ADPA products sold worldwide, effective for all shipments on or after September 1, 2024, or as customer contracts allow. The price increase will be up to 12% depending on product and world region.
This price increase will help offset the effects of continued inflationary pressures on the business.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it will supply its GEOLANDAR M/T G003 mud-terrain tires for SUVs and pickup trucks to Team MITSUBISHI RALLIART for its participation in this year’s Asia Cross Country Rally (hereafter AXCR), Asia’s largest cross country rally, which is scheduled to be held during August 11–17. In 2022, Team MITSUBISHI RALLIART captured the overall championship on GEOLANDAR M/T G003 tires and aims to reclaim the championship this year.
