SilSense material is a non‑animal solution which has low volatile organic volatile (VOC) as it is produced through a cleaner, solvent-free process than other products currently used in the market for vegan synthetic leather. The new material has a leather-feel soft touch and comfort, and it can be provided in different textures and colors. KraussMaffei appoints Dr. Alexandra Coffey as sustainability manager

Dr. Alexandra Coffey was appointed Senior Sustainability Manager of the KraussMaffei Group on January 1, 2023. She reports directly to the Management Board. Coffey comes from the Schörghuber Group, where she was also responsible for sustainability. Her thematic focus areas are CO2, single-use plastics, the environment and supply chain sourcing obligations. With the creation of this new position, KraussMaffei is reinforcing its strategy of becoming a completely sustainable company in the medium and long term. By 2030, the Group wants to achieve a corporate carbon footprint of zero and operate all plants worldwide in a CO2-neutral manner.

Valmet acquires NovaTech Automation’s Process Solutions business

Valmet has completed the acquisition of the U.S. based NovaTech Automation’s Process Solutions business.
The acquired business specializes in process control and optimization solutions for batch, continuous and hybrid processes. It serves customers mainly in process industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and chemical products. With a turnover of approximately USD 18 million, it employs 76 people in the United States and the Benelux countries. The acquisition excludes NovaTech Automation’s other divisions.

Goodyear introduces to life size tire sculptures for the Cotton Bowl Classic

Goodyear introduced two life-sized tire mascot sculptures handcrafted by artist and former minor league baseball player, Blake McFarland, to commemorate each team advancing to the 87th annual Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
