Apollo Tyre reports revenue up 17 percent for FY23

The Board of Directors of Apollo Tyres approved the company’s audited financial results for the fourth quarter (Jan to Mar) and the financial year 2022 – 23. The Board recommended a dividend payout of Rs 4.00 per equity share, and a special dividend of Rs 0.50 per equity share, aggregating to Rs 4.50 (450%), on face value of Re 1 each for FY23, subject to the approval of the shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

The MidAtlantic Rubber and Plastics Group Scholarship is officially open for applications. Members can sponsor one scholarship applicant. The applicant does not have to be a member’s child, but can be any current or incoming college student, which could be a relative, neighbor or someone in your community. Preference will be given to students majoring in Science, Technology, or Business, but all majors will be considered. The number of scholarship awards and amount awarded will depend on the number of qualified applicants.

Bayer and Cat Creek Energy sign landmark renewable energy deal

Bayer and Cat Creek Energy (CCE), a renewable energy Independent Power Producer, announced a long-term Structured Renewable Energy Credit (REC) Purchase Agreement that will satisfy Bayer´s renewable electricity needs and lead to the construction by CCE of multiple variable renewable energy resources plus energy storage facilities in Idaho. The renewable energy projects will generate 1.4 terawatt hours of clean electricity annually.

The latest version of ASTM D1238 defines the use of force-controlled extrusion plastometers for the determination of melt mass-flow rate (MFR) and melt volume-flow rate (MVR). This means new control possibilities, especially for the preheating phase of the test process. The test sequence is largely automated, greatly relieving test personnel from having to fill the correct sample mass and enter correct parameters, leading to increased efficiency and reproducibility.

Mitsubishi Chemical studies recycling polycarbonate resin with aims to process 10,000 tons per year

The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (the MCG Group) has started a study aimed at realizing a processing capacity of approximately 10,000 tons per year by 2030, seeking to commercialize the world’s first chemical recycling by depolymerization of polycarbonate resin (PC resin). A bench facility for a verification study is currently under construction at the Fukuoka Plant, with completion scheduled for August 2023. The MCG Group plans to complete demonstration experiments during the same fiscal year and then proceed with specific commercialization studies. The demonstration project has been adopted as a subsidized project for the Ministry of the Environment’s “FY2022 Demonstration Project for a Plastic Resource Circulation System toward a Decarbonized Society” program.
