LANXESS Corporation announced that its Urethane Systems (URE) business unit has partnered with Azelis Americas to distribute its polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) in the United States, effective November 1, 2022. The agreement adds the Witcobond® line of PUDs to Azelis’ existing portfolio of LANXESS Urethane Systems product lines serving the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomer (CASE) markets.

Continental has launched a new lineup of General tires for regional on/off-road all position use called General Grabber OA 2 and OA 2 Wide Base (WB). These 2nd generation tires have a new tread compound to improve mileage, chip and chunk resistance and protect the casing to allow for multiple retreads. The tires provide great traction, minimal stone retention, and durability. Helmut Keller, Continental’s Head of Product Management says, “Drivers should expect a reduction of road noise and improved comfort with the new tread design and tread compound. Fleets should experience better fuel economy with better rolling resistance.” The industries that benefit from these heavy-duty tires are construction, material transport, cement, utility, emergency vehicles, heavy haul and special loads and mining/quarry. Continental will be phasing out the General Grabber OA and OA WB tire.

Evonik is introducing a new sustainable high-performance plastic to its eCO product line. In the production of the polyamide 12 elastomer (PEBA) VESTAMID® eCO E40, 50 percent of fossil raw materials are saved and replaced by a starting material obtained from chemical recycling of used tires. In addition, only renewable energy is used in production, which reduces the carbon footprint by a total of 42 percent. Evonik will present VESTAMID® eCO and its other sustainable plastic materials under the motto “Next generation plastic solutions” at this year’s K trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany, October 19-26, at booth B28 in hall 6.
