Elastocon announces new model of its automatic relaxation and creep tester
Brämhult, Sweden – Elastocon has developed a new model of its automatic relaxation and creep tester. The new EB 32 model has a liquid circulator for cooling and can cycle between -40 °C and +200 °C, with the same temperature in all 3 test stations. EB 32 can perform testing of rubber and plastics according to ISO 188 method A, ISO 3384-1 method A and B, ISO 3384-2, ISO 6914 method A, ISO 899-14 and ISO 899-2 with some modification (no extensometer required).
The original model EB 18-II-3 also has three test stations with individual control of each station. The temperature in each cell can also be controlled individually, between +40 and +200 °C (up to +300 °C in the HT version). EB 18-II-3 can perform testing according to the same standards, except ISO 3384-1 method B and ISO 3384-2.
Both models have test rigs that are based on Elastocon’s relaxation rig EB 02, but here the lowering and raising of the rigs as well as the compression or elongation of the samples are motor driven.
As the positioning is done by servo motors, the instrument will automatically compensate for the deformation in the load cells. The resolution of the position is 0,0001 mm and the accuracy 0,001 mm.
By default, the EB 18-II-3 instrument is delivered with compression plates and 1 000 N load cells. Other accessories such as different load cells, testing in compression in liquid, testing in air in tension and special clamps for testing in creep according to ISO 899-1 and ISO 899-2 can be ordered separately.
Testing can also be performed at 23°C with the rigs in their elevated position in the hood instead of down in the cells of the oven.
In the included Windows computer, the EC 13 software for relaxation and creep testing is pre-installed. The program helps the user set up and start the test and continuously displays the results.
