Falken expands its 4×4 tire portfolio with the launch of the WILDPEAK R/T01

Offenbach am Mahn, Germany – Falken Tyre Europe GmbH is expanding its 4×4 tire portfolio with the launch of the WILDPEAK R/T01 for demanding terrain – ensuring the manufacturer now has a tire for every off-road application. Engineered with adventure in mind – and across the toughest of applications – the R/T01’s tread design and structure are intended to provide maximum performance on the most difficult terrain.

Available from Q1 2024, the new WILDPEAK R/T01 will initially be offered in nine different sizes – ranging from 16 to 20 inches – with a ‘Q’ speed rating. Given its intention as a professional off-road tire (POR), the WILDPEAK R/T01 has no further EU tire label designation. The new tread blends the key attributes of Falken’s All-Terrain (A/T) and Mud-Terrain (M/T) versions, resulting in the ideal combination of traction, durability, and longevity for all-wheel drive vehicles in extreme applications. This should benefit the construction, forestry, agricultural and expedition sectors, as well as off-road enthusiasts and those who like to travel off the beaten path.

The WILDPEAK R/T01 pattern is packed with features to inspire confidence whilst tackling the most difficult driving routes at the same time as delivering low wear rates and high durability. The hybrid off-road tread pattern shares similarities with the WILDPEAK A/T and features a large contact area and stiff tread blocks for maximum mileage reliability, on-road performance and off-road ruggedness.

In terms of M/T capabilities, the WILDPEAK R/T01 is not only well suited for traversing muddy ground thanks to its open shoulder tread design, but is also well equipped for stones. The excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread provide the ultimate defense against mud and rocks – ensuring the best grip and superior traction. The three-layer sidewall provides the required cut resistance, robustness and additional protection to provide maximum grip when it’s needed the most.

Since the introduction of the Falken WILDPEAK M/T in 2018, Falken has continuously expanded its range of tires with high off-road suitability and for off-road capable vehicles – offering best-in-class features and capability to conquer even the toughest of terrain. As such, tires in the WILDPEAK range are also OE fit for vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz and RAM.

In addition to masterful off-road performance and exceptionally good driving characteristics on the road, the WILDPEAK M/T – in size 245/75 R 16 – impressed during the 2022 Classic Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia to complete 7,500km of running across challenging terrain with zero punctures.
