GRI expands its presence in Europe by acquiring ATRA in Hungary

Colombo, Sri Lanka – GRI has acquired ATRA Kecskemet of Hungary, into its network of companies worldwide and strengthening its presence in Europe.
With an operating history of over 30 years, ATRA is a versatile, dynamic, and diversified company that services material handling, agriculture and construction industries and fitment services across Hungary and neighbouring countries in Europe. Since its inception over three decades ago, ATRA has built a nationwide presence with eight branches across Hungary and operates through a seasoned staff of 50 personnel. It services some the largest and most reputed forklift distributors in the country and has captured over 50% market share of both the material handling and construction tire markets.
Mr. Giorgio Gramegna, Director of Europe at GRI said, “The acquisition of ATRA is a strategic move by GRI. This significantly strengthens our business in Hungary for all our key products. Hungary is also ideally located in Europe between Western and Eastern Europe. GRI produces high-grade specialty tires that are built sustainably using pure natural rubber in Sri Lanka. Founded in 2002, the company produces material handling solid tires, radial agriculture tires, and construction tires. GRI has operations in ten countries, and a business presence in more than 50 countries worldwide. Since 2018, GRI has been advancing in the rapid expansion of its specialty tire production plants and tire compound mixing facilities in Sri Lanka as well as its operations in key countries.
