International Elastomer Conference 2024 opens today in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – The International Elastomer Conference opens today in Pittsburgh, PA at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The conference will run through Thursday September 12th. The International Elastomer Conference is the premier place where educators, customers, manufacturers and suppliers of materials, equipment, tools and services come together. This event is the one place, one time of year, where you find the best of our industry all under one roof. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, observations, regulatory reforms and emerging scientific technologies, as well as learning, networking, seeing current customers and making new ones. It is an event where connections are made, knowledge is shared, new products, new technology and new ideas are introduced, business is conducted, developed and gained, fun is had, encouragement and empowerment happen, and the future is embraced.

Opening ceremony kicks off at 9 AM with keynote speaker Darcy Robison; Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Darcy Robison serves as vice president and chief sustainability officer for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Robison, who joined Goodyear in 2023, has more than 20 years of experience in sustainability, corporate and social responsibility, regulatory compliance, environmental, health and safety (EHS), and advancing sustainability in a large manufacturing organization. She joined Goodyear from Pentair, where she held roles with increasing responsibility in sustainability, EHS and quality. Robison holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) and a master’s degree in environmental science and policy from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Keynote Address: At the Intersection of Sustainability and Technology – Today, new innovations and emerging technologies are helping to drive a more sustainable future. From advanced materials to industry collaborations, we are seeing the value created from the integration of sustainability into technological processes. The Division works to be the premier resource for the elastomer industry by providing valuable opportunities to learn, connect and grow. The organization is over 100 years old.
