Matteo Marchisio appointed to the board of directors of Tyre Recycling Solutions (TRS)

Oświęcim, Poland – Synthos announced that Matteo Marchisio, Business Unit Director, Synthetic Rubber at
Synthos, has been appointed to the Board of Directors Tyre Recycling Solutions (TRS) during the Annual
General Meeting on June 29, 2022.
Marchisio spent nearly 20 years successfully working in the rubber industry in various positions before
joining Synthos in June 2017 as business unit director, Synthetic Rubber. Marchisio’s extensive
experience at one of the world’s leading synthetic rubber manufacturers with a broad portfolio and strong
technology roadmap focused on sustainable solutions will benefit TRS in its quest to grow the recycled
rubber powder market.
“With many leading tyre manufacturers anticipating upcoming legislative changes in the EU regarding a
possible minimum recycled content in tyres, it has become clear that the acceptance of high-quality
rubber powder from end-of-life tyres as a viable alternative to virgin material in high performance rubber
applications is rapidly increasing,” said Matteo Marchisio, Business Unit Director, Synthos Synthetic
Rubber. “I personally believe that innovative companies like Synthos and TRS will lead the market shift
toward high-performance material solutions with a smaller environmental footprint, and I am therefore
committed to contributing to their long-term success.”
TRS, a successful Swiss scale-up company founded in 2013, is at the centre of a transformation by
solving an enormous waste problem. With half of the world’s scrap tyres stockpiled annually, valorisation
through recycling is less than 20%. TRS has proprietary, eco-viable and economically lucrative solutions
that help the industry solve this problem by adding value to existing players in the recycling chain and
offering cost-effective new materials and unique compounding solutions for use in tyres, industrial,
construction and footwear applications
