Shaped elastomeric container with integrated leak resistant seal and pressure shield
U.S. patent: 11,124,330
Issued: September 21, 2021
Inventors: Paul Maguire, Katousha Ghaemi Nouri, Angelo Carpinelli and Bryan Kin Fo Au
Assigned: Stasher
Key statement: A container made of an elastomer such as silicone with an integrated leak resistant seal and pressure shield. Seal incorporates press-fit elements with sizes and shapes sufficient to provide a strong seal that resists leakage of liquids from inside the container; seal is integrated into the container and requires no external clips or clasps. The pressure shield increases leak resistance by at least 300% and is formed by adding material to the inside of the container and not to the engaging portions of the seal, and works by deflecting pressure away from the two leak resistant seal portions. Additional features are provided to facilitate opening such as extended flaps for pulling the sides open and asymmetric cavities for press-fit elements to reduce the initial opening force. The container may include a hole and be of asymmetrical shape, such as trapezoidal, to provide a wide opening along with a strong seal.

The elastomer matrix includes at least one modified diene elastomer comprising within its structure at least one alkoxysilane group, which is optionally partially or totally hydrolyzed to silanol, bonded to the elastomer by the silicon atom. The alkoxysilane group optionally bears another function bonded to the silicon atom directly or by means of a spacer group. The modified diene elastomer is such that, before modification, the diene elastomer has a polydispersity index of at least 1.1 and at most 1.6, and has a Mooney viscosity ranging from 50 to 80 and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of strictly less than -50°C, preferably less than or equal to -60°C and greater than or equal to -110°C.

Biofiller for rubber reinforcement
U.S. patent: 11,124,653
Issued: September 21, 2021
Inventors: Vinod Malshe, Sangeeta Srivastava and Manisha Jadhav
Assigned: Godavari Biorefineries
Assigned: Godavari Biorefineries
Key statement: A biofiller for rubber reinforcement; said biofiller is surface treated up to 10% by weight of microcrystalline lignocellulose with aldehyde and/or ketone. The said biofiller has economic significance as well as reduces pollution as it replaces 2% carbon black from the rubber composition which is a substantial amount after reviewing overall use of carbon black in rubber industries such as the tire industry, worldwide. A rubber composition comprising the said biofiller and its various applications such as tires, shoes, bags, belts, etc.
