Roemheld to display magnetic and hydraulic mold clamping technology at International Elastomer Conference
Fenton, MO – Roemheld Hilma, a worldwide market leader in quick mold change solutions, will be showcasing their line of hydraulic and magnetic mold clamping systems and mold handling products at this year’s International Elastomer Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. With a Roemheld mold change system, mold changes are accomplished ergonomically and in the shortest time possible, reducing machine downtime.
Hydraulic clamping systems are installed in the machine and often require no hands-on human interaction. Operators can clamp or unclamp their mold with a control switch and if there is a loss of retaining force, the press will shut down. RIVI’s magnetic mold clamping systems can reach temperatures up to 464°F and are specially designed for rubber and duroplastics processing. They also provide a hands-free clamp/unclamp of hot molds greatly reducing mold change time. Even in the event of a power failure, electrical power is only needed for 2 to 3 seconds to clamp and magnetize or to unclamp and demagnetize the mold. Once in operation, the magnetic platens no longer need any power to remain magnetized.
In addition, Roemheld’s mold handling systems can help transport heavy molds safely during changeover. This includes mold carts, carrying consoles and roller bars. Depending on load carrying capacity, application and mounting conditions, a wide variety of designs and types can be supplied. Roemheld’s engineers can help you determine the best clamps and other mold change equipment specific to an application.
