Sigma Soft announces tooling and process development seminar

Chicago, IL – Tooling and Process Development for Injection Molding Thermoplastic Parts Seminar to be held September 7, 2023 – 9:00am-4:00pm at the
Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel – Schaumburg, IL; Registration: $100.

Part and tool design is a complicated process that needs to be evaluated very early in the project phase to avoid expensive manufacturing mistakes. An optimized process window is equally important for keeping the manufacturing costs low while achieving the required part quality.

The goal of this seminar is to go through the different factors that need to be considered during product, tooling, and process development. The design considerations that will be discussed to make a part ready for manufacturing include: where to gate; where can we place cooling; changing mold materials; what process parameters are influencing different quality issues such as core deflection, pressure and clamp force requirements, placement of ejection system; any limitation that might be faced while going through these topics

This overview can shed light on many questions that might come along the way when understanding and manufacturing complex part shapes.

SIGMA will be partnering with MGS Manufacturing, Nexeo Plastics, and Arburg, Inc. to share their expertise in achieving optimized tooling and processes.
