Wacker Silicones under new leadership

Munich, Germany – Dr. Thomas Koini will take over as head of WACKER SILICONES effective July 1, 2023. He succeeds Dr. Robert Gnann, who will leave the company at his own request and retire on June 30, 2023. Koini was previously head of the Performance Solutions business unit at WACKER SILICONES.

Dr. Thomas Koini studied industrial engineering at the University of Linz, where he received his doctorate in technical sciences. He joined WACKER as a trainee in 1996 and initially worked as a laboratory manager in technical marketing at WACKER SILICONES. After holding various management positions at WACKER SILICONES in Germany and abroad, Koini took over as head of the silicones business in the Greater China region in 2008. 2014 he was appointed Head of Corporate Sales & Distribution, and Koini has been Head of the Performance Solutions business unit since 2018.
