Zeppelin Systems joins forces with a new tire recycling partner
Friedrichshafen, Germany – Zeppelin Systems has spent over 40 years as a solution provider for the tire industry, spearheading new priorities not only in tire production, but also the recycling of end-of-life tires. The Friedrichshafen-based plant engineering company is a solutions provider along the value chain, and welcomes as a partner the Recykl Group, an established Polish market leader in the management of post-consumer waste in the form of end-of-life tires. Set to start on February 3rd, 2023, this partnership is being made in alignment with the integrated circular economy concept.
The strategic merger of the two companies generates valuable synergetic effects in the development and marketing of technologies in the field of end-of-life tire recycling. Polish company Recykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. is part of a large capital group (Recykl Group, GRC) and has been working intensively on the reprocessing of used tires since 2004. The company processes over 120,000 metric tons of used tire material every year, making it one of the largest companies of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe.
Zeppelin Systems’ tire production and recycling relies on highly automated processes, zero-waste production, and technologies that reduce emissions. This field is a key issue for the industry, because to achieve a sustainable circular economy in tire production it is essential that tire recyclates are of a consistently high quality and available in sufficient quantities. The merger with Recykl Group takes the mechanical recycling of used tires to the next level. Plant engineering technology is provided by Zeppelin Systems, and the process for tire recycling – in particular the devulcanization of rubber – by Recykl Group. The result is high-quality recyclates that can be directly integrated back into the production cycle for new tires. For example, recycled textile fibers from mechanical recycling are reused as stabilizers in road construction and in fact offer even better properties than conventional materials. This new partnership represents an important alliance: “As an integrated solutions provider for the recycling of end-of-life tires, we are closing an important gap in the circular economy by means of our partnership with Recykl Group. We are making our contribution to commercializing the recyclate production technologies which the tire industry urgently needs to manufacture sustainable tires,” says Guido Veit, Vice President Sales for Polyolefins, Rubber and Silos at Zeppelin Systems GmbH.
As an expert throughout the value chain of the tire recycling process, Zeppelin Systems, together with the Recykl Group, will also be presenting at the international Tire Technology Expo in Hanover from March 21 to 23, 2023. Visitors to Stand 9000 in Hall 21 will be able to experience Zeppelin’s accumulated solutions excellence in tire production. From mixing room solutions, technology associations and innovations, to the production of recyclates like devulcanized rubber, fiber-reinforced stabilizers for road’s construction, recovered and purified Carbon Black (rCB) as well as recycled oils.
