Continental to factory fit the new Alfa Romeo Tonale

Hanover, Germany – For its new Tonale model, Alfa Romeo is counting on the original equipment expertise of Continental by factory-fitting the compact SUV with 17 and 18 inch EcoContact 6 premium tires. The tires are designed for exceptionally energy-efficient and noise-optimized driving. The characteristics of the EcoContact 6 tire are a good fit for the hybrid-drive versions in particular.

For the EcoContact 6, the developers at Continental came up with a special rubber compound that minimizes energy absorption while the vehicle is in motion and, in turn, reduces friction and rolling resistance. This improves both wear and energy consumption. In 2022, German automobile magazine Auto Zeitung declared the EcoContact 6 to be the recommended choice for saving fuel. In addition to short braking distances, the premium tire features an asymmetrical groove and sipe geometry that offers exceptional grip on dry and wet roads and excellent cornering stability even at high speeds. The optimized tread design also helps to reduce the tire’s rolling noise and, in turn, the noise level inside the vehicle.
