Dr. Amit Das to be featured speaker at Spring Technical Meeting

Akron, OH – The Rubber Division, ACS announces that Dr. Amit Das will speaking at the Spring Technical Meeting. Amit Das is a senior scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden e. V. (IPF) and is also visiting professor at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland. He is an expert in the field of bio-inspired elastomer composites, smart-healing elastomers and electro active smart rubbers. Dr. Das was the 2016 recipient of the Sparks-Thomas Award for early career researchers and serves as associate editor of the Rubber Chemistry & Technology journal.

Das will be giving two presentations at the Spring Technical Meeting. On Tuesday, March 4, he will present an alternative crosslinking approach for epoxidized natural rubber in his presentation Sulphur-like Flexible but Strong Ionic Network in ENR. On Thursday, March 6, Dr. Das will participate in the Symposium in Honor of Charles Goodyear Medalist Gert Heinrich with a presentation titled Integration of Smart Functionality to Commercial Rubbers.
