Avient unveils new flame-resistant polymer technology

Avon Lake, OH — Avient Corp. has introduced new flame-resistant polymer technologies that use recycled materials while helping manufacturers meet increasingly strict fire-safety requirements.

The Avon Lake-based materials company unveiled the products ahead of the Fakuma 2026 industry trade show in Germany. The new materials are aimed at electrical, electronics and appliance applications.

Avient’s Nymax FR REC recycled nylon formulations contain up to 77% post-industrial recycled content and provide non-halogenated flame protection.

The company also introduced Maxxam NHFR polyolefin formulations capable of achieving a UL 94 5VA flame rating at 2 millimeters.

Avient said the technologies are designed to help manufacturers reduce their use of halogenated materials while improving the recycled content of their products.

Avient technical experts will be available from October 12 – 16 in Hall B5, Booth 5104 to discuss application opportunities and material challenges.
