BKT enters India’s consumer tire market
Mumbai, India – Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT), announces its official entry into India’s consumer tire market. This marks a defining moment in the company’s evolution from an industrial tire specialist to a broader mobility brand. As part of this strategic expansion, BKT introduces a new two-wheeler portfolio for India and prepares to enter the commercial on-road segment. Simultaneously, the company unveils BKT Tires as its dedicated product brand, supported by the new claim ‘Elevate Your Drive’.
This move represents the next chapter of BKT’s Vision 2030: scaling responsibly while extending its engineering standards to everyday mobility.
“BKT’s consumer foray is a natural extension of a trusted global legacy built on performance, engineering discipline. As a home-grown brand delivering global excellence, we believe Indian consumers deserve products built to international benchmarks. This step strengthens our commitment to India’s evolving mobility ecosystem.” –Arvind Poddar, Chairman & Managing Director, BKT.
BKT’s consumer journey begins with two purpose-built two-wheeler tire lines: ZENOVA and THYROS.
ZENOVA is engineered for urban commuting, delivering comfort, stability, and smooth handling for everyday city riders. THYROS is designed for on-road and light off-road applications, offering confidence and control across mixed terrain conditions. Together, the two lines address the full spectrum of daily Indian riding environments.
Manufactured in India, the products are developed under IATF 16949-certified processes. Validation includes indoor design verification testing, accelerated durability trials, and vehicle-level testing at NATRAX covering wet and dry braking, ride, and handling performance. The entire range carries mandatory BIS certification.
By bringing industrial-grade validation standards into the two-wheeler category, BKT transfers the engineering discipline that built its global OHT leadership into the consumer space.
Commercial Vehicle Radials (CVR) – Building on its consumer market entry, BKT will also expand into the commercial on-road segment with the introduction of m.Loadxpert (11.00R20) and Milexpert RG (295/90R20), expected for launch by June 2026.
Developed for high-demand applications including cement transportation, construction logistics, and regional cargo movement, these tires are engineered for stability, casing strength, durability, extended service life, and retreadability.
The TBR portfolio is validated through 138 in-process quality checks, more than 20 design verification tests, and testing in NABL-accredited laboratories, in full compliance with BIS requirements.
