Engel Silicone Days 2026 show highlights
Schwertberg, Austria — The ENGEL Group showcased new and established technologies for silicone injection molding during its Silicone Days 2026 event, highlighting advances aimed at improving quality, efficiency and process reliability for manufacturers.
The two-day event, held April 28–29 in Schwertberg, drew about 200 participants from international markets to explore developments in processing liquid and solid silicone, according to the company.
ENGEL said the event emphasized its more than 40 years of experience in silicone injection molding, with a focus on transferring practical expertise and proven technologies to users. Attendees engaged with the company and partner firms through “Expert Corners,” which facilitated discussions on simulation, mold making and dosing technology.
In a keynote address, CEO Stefan Engleder said the company’s approach is centered on helping customers adopt new applications early and translate market trends into scalable production. He said this can lead to reduced scrap, less downtime and improved efficiency, particularly in competitive markets.
The first day of the event focused on hands-on applications, with visitors observing three production solutions in ENGEL’s technical center. The demonstrations highlighted how the integration of machinery, molds, automation and process technology contributes to stable operations, high product quality and cost-effective manufacturing.
Among the featured exhibits was a highly automated production cell designed to manufacture precision seals made of liquid silicone rubber for fuel cell gas diffusion layers. The company said the system enables sensitive film components to be overmolded with accuracy and reliability, a key requirement for series production in hydrogen mobility applications.
Additional technologies on display included injection molding machines and process innovations aimed at improving flexibility, reducing investment costs and increasing process reliability in both liquid and solid silicone applications. ENGEL also presented a new material feeding system intended to enhance material flow and minimize defects in production.
Specialist presentations held during the event provided application-oriented insights, focusing on robust processes, faster time-to-market and consistent part quality, the company said.
