Yokohama Rubber’s natural rubber processing subsidiary receives Thai government’s CSR award

Hiratsuka, Japan—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. announced that Y.T. Rubber Co., Ltd. (YTRC), Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.’s natural rubber processing subsidiary in Thailand, received the Outstanding Provincial-Level CSR Organization Award as part of the “CSR Award 2026” program organized by Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security on August 22, 2026.

The CSR Award 2026 program is based on the concept of “CSR Partnerships for Sustainable Thailand” and recognizes organizations that set examples for corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the provincial or metropolitan level across Thailand’s 76 provinces and Bangkok. At the awards ceremony, held at IMPACT Challenger Hall in Nonthaburi Province, a total of 92 organizations including YTRC and other companies and organizations selected from across the country as well as CSR centers in various provinces, gathered to receive commemorative plaques.

Ever since its establishment in Surat Thani Province in 2008, YTRC has strived to preserve the natural environment and maintain relationships of trust with neighboring communities. To promote sustainable procurement of natural rubber, the company conducts surveys of natural rubber plantations and provides management support to farmers in cooperation with the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT)1. YTRC also promotes the adoption of agroforestry practices2, which help natural rubber farmers to earn stable incomes. In addition, YTRC has worked alongside the Surat Thani Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security to promote initiatives aimed at building positive relationships with local communities.

This award recognizes the company’s ongoing, community-oriented CSR activities and significant contribution to the local area. On August 31, the Surat Thani Provincial Council held a special event to once again recognize YTRC’s contributions to the community, where the governor presented the company with a bouquet of flowers in celebration of the award. The CSR Center of Surat Thani Province was also one of just nine centers selected nationwide to receive the Outstanding Provincial CSR Promotion Center Award.

Under the sustainability slogan “Caring for the Future,” Yokohama Rubber is creating shared value by addressing social issues through its business activities. Going forward, YTRC and Yokohama Rubber’s other sites around the world will continue to actively promote initiatives that contribute to positive relationships with local communities and sustainable development.
