ACE Innovations launched as a sister entity to ACE Laboratories and chosen for Synthe6 Accelerator Program
Ravenna, OH – ACE Technology Group has announced the launch of ACE Innovations, a new sister company to ACE Laboratories, focused on developing and commercializing sustainable polymer solutions.
With years of experience working with global customers in elastomer testing and development, ACE Innovations builds on ACE Laboratories’ expertise across diverse applications ranging from tires and medical devices to construction materials.
“ACE Innovations was set up to turn promising sustainable technology into real-world solutions,” said Erick Sharp, ACE founder and CEO. “We have seen opportunities not only to address industry needs with new ideas of our own, but also to partner with innovators who have strong concepts yet may not have the resources to fund full development through a contract laboratory. ACE Innovations gives us all a pathway to bring those ideas to life responsibly, sustainably and at scale. We have already entered into two joint technology agreements that are advancing concepts brought to us by external innovators.”
ACE Innovations has also been selected as one of eight companies in the inaugural Synthe6 Materials Accelerator cohort, a new 12-month program launched by Bounce Innovation Hub in partnership with the Polymer Industry Cluster. The program supports early-stage polymer and materials science companies with grant funding, commercialization training and access to industry partners through the cluster network.
As part of the accelerator, ACE Innovations is advancing the development of asphalt additives made from recycled materials to improve adhesion and durability, while offsetting virgin polymers and resins. “We are delighted to have been selected,” added Sharp. “With our strong knowledge of polymers and asphalt, this accelerator will help us bring forward a promising innovation that supports both performance and sustainability.”
The Synthe6 cohort, formally announced in September 2025, includes companies working across sustainable raw materials, advanced recycling, PFAS remediation, wound healing technologies and lightweight protective polymers. Bounce Innovation Hub was founded in 2018 and the Polymer Industry Cluster in 2021, and both contribute to the overall mission of positioning Greater Akron and Northeast Ohio as a center for polymer innovation and growth.
