ACE Laboratories expands low temperature testing capacity

Ravenna, OH – ACE Laboratories, an independent ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory providing testing and development services for rubber, silicone and polymers, has expanded its low temperature testing capabilities with the addition of a Gibitre low temperature test unit.

Low temperature testing evaluates how materials perform when exposed to sub-zero conditions. This type of testing is critical for manufacturers developing products designed to maintain flexibility, strength and integrity in cold environments. The Gibitre system performs both Temperature Retraction (TR) and Brittleness Point (BP) testing in full compliance with international standards including ASTM D1329, ASTM D2137 and ASTM D746.

This latest equipment investment significantly increases ACE Laboratories’ testing capacity and efficiency. The Gibitre unit’s multi-sample capability and fully automatic operation enable faster turnaround times, providing customers across industries such as automotive, construction, aerospace and consumer goods with more timely and reliable data to support their product development and quality assurance needs.

“Materials that perform well at room temperature can stiffen, crack or even fracture when exposed to cold,” said Erick Sharp, Founder and CEO of ACE Laboratories. “Understanding how compounds respond to low temperatures is vital for ensuring safety, durability and reliability in the field. With this new system, we are able to provide our customers with faster, more comprehensive testing to help them design materials that stand up to cold conditions and meet validation and compliance requirements.”
