Huntsman Corporation celebrated the grand opening of its expanded Performance Products manufacturing facility in Petfurdo, Hungary, where operations were initiated at the beginning of this year. The successful completion of this investment increases Huntsman’s global capacity providing greater flexibility, and innovative technologies for the polyurethane, coatings, metalworking and electronics industries.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it is supplying its GEOLANDAR X-CV tires as original equipment (OE) to Toyota Motor Corporation for use on the automaker’s new SUV-type battery electric vehicle (BEV), the C-HR, recently launched in North America. The BEV is being fitted with 235/50R20 100V size tires.

Clariant is expanding its Clear Lake site to include excipient GMP-compliant manufacturing of pharmaceutical-grade polyethylene glycol (PEG) excipients, significantly improving their availability and reliability for North American customers, with extended reach to Latin America. The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Polyurethane Innovation Award, which recognizes companies and individuals whose vision and perseverance bring groundbreaking polyurethane technologies, products, and initiatives to market.

The company reported revenue of 5.673 billion euros ($6.1 billion) for 2025, down 10.9% from the previous year, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) pre-exceptionals fell 16.9% to 510 million euros.

LANXESS attributed the downturn to persistently weak demand across most customer industries, lower sales volumes and continued pricing pressure, particularly from Asian competitors. Lower raw material costs also contributed to reduced selling prices, while unfavorable currency effects and the sale of its Urethane Systems business in April 2025 further weighed on results.
