Biesterfeld takes over European distribution rights of ExxonMobil‘s Oppera Modifiers

Hamburg, Germany – As of now Biesterfeld Performance Rubber is strengthening its long-standing collaboration with industry-leading polymer supplier ExxonMobil Chemical by taking on the distribution of Oppera™ in the European market.

Oppera™ modifiers are hydrocarbon resins compatible with a wide range of hydrocarbon elastomers. They play a significant role in our daily lives: From tires, where the usage helps to improve wet grip, over tea and cosmetic wrapping to food packaging. By using Oppera™ modifiers, raw material consumption can be reduced while extending shelf life and product freshness.

Due to its compatibility with different formulators and a lower compound viscosity for easier processing and the avoidance of softening of the end-product, Oppera™ modifiers can also be used in rubber applications, such as power transmission belts, conveyor belts and hoses.

“By obtaining the distribution right for Oppera™ modifiers we are able to complete our portfolio, as it perfectly supplements our other product groups“, says Lennart Kalytta, Product Manager Biesterfeld Performance Rubber.

“We are pleased to be strengthening our collaboration with Biesterfeld, which we have been fostering successfully for 35 years,” adds Thierry Hombert, EMEAF Sales Manager, Specialty Elastomers & Butyl. “With Oppera™ modifiers, Biesterfeld offers another great product group of ExxonMobil Chemical next to Vistalon™ EPDM and Exxon™ butyl rubber.”
