Bridgestone Americas releases 2023 DE&I annual report

Nashville, TN ― Bridgestone Americas, Inc. announced the release of its 2023 DE&I Annual Report. Guided by the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, this report captures new ways Bridgestone Americas is uniting efforts across the company and highlights key milestones. This includes the launch of its new Employee Value Proposition, which unites individuals with diverse perspectives to create a world-class team where they can thrive.

The 2023 DE&I Annual Report outlines advancements Bridgestone Americas has made in its three DE&I focus areas: workplace, workforce and marketplace.
Workplace – How Bridgestone Americas creates an equitable experience for underrepresented groups and an inclusive experience for all.
Workforce – The focus placed on retention, recruitment and advancement of underrepresented groups.
Marketplace – Doing meaningful business with underrepresented groups in its supplier network to make a more equitable impact in the economies in which the company operates.
In 2021, Bridgestone Americas launched its Free to Be movement to cultivate an inclusive workplace culture that empowers teammates to bring their whole, authentic selves to work. The company continues to carry out this mission and has made meaningful strides. In 2023, the company expanded DE&I training opportunities across BSAM regions, increased ERG support in retail and technical communities, and launched a seventh ERG “BHAPI” to represent Bridgestone’s Asian and Pacific Islander community and allies. Bridgestone Americas was also recognized as a 2023 “Top 100 Best Companies for Women” by Comparably, a prominent workplace culture and compensation monitoring employee review platform.
Bridgestone Americas is committed to developing leaders who are representative of the teammates they lead and communities they serve. To help build a diverse workforce, Bridgestone prioritized engaging with students and young people to help develop skills for the future. Highlights included attending and speaking at the 2023 National Society of Black Engineers Conference and partnering with HBCUs such as Tennessee State University (TSU). The company also collaborated with other schools and organizations such as Maplewood High School, East High School in Akron, and Women in Technology of Tennessee (WiTT).
Bridgestone Americas was named a “Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation” by Women in Trucking (WIT) for the second consecutive year in 2023. The company also activated over 50 teammates across the enterprise to connect, mentor, celebrate and learn from other women across the transportation industry.
To empower the company’s marketplace, Bridgestone Americas has remained focused on providing equal opportunities for the communities they serve through its Supplier Diversity Commitment and continued community partnerships.
Bridgestone Americas’ 2023 DE&I Annual Report details the strides the company made in community giving programs. Some of the significant contributions in 2023 include investing more than $2.4M into the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund and raising over $2.7M through teammate-giving and a charitable golf tournament. Within the community, Bridgestone Americas led initiatives that created equitable opportunities for all and partnered with organizations including Nashville Predators’ Creating Opportunities for Racial Equity program, Bridgestone’s Liberia Community, Truckers Against Trafficking and the Boys and Girls Club of America.
