Christian Kötz appointed CEO of Continental
The Supervisory Board of Continental AG appointed Christian Kötz as new chief executive officer and chairman of the Executive Board effective January 1, 2026. Nikolai Setzer will step down from the Executive Board by mutual agreement on December 31, 2025, after more than 16 years as a board member and five years as CEO. This step comes as planned on the back of the significant progress made with Continental’s realignment and transformation into a pure-play tire company.

The global market for rubber process oils is projected to grow steadily over the next five years, reaching an estimated $2.49 billion by 2030 as demand rises from key manufacturing sectors according to Markets and Markets.
Industry analysts forecast a compound annual growth rate of around 2.6% from 2025 to 2030, reflecting stable expansion as rubber producers seek improved processing performance and enhanced compound properties in a wide range of applications.

AGC achieves first UL2809 verification for recycled-fluorite PTFE
AGC Inc., announces that its Fluon® PTFE G grade manufactured using recycled fluorite as the raw material, has completed third-party verification based on UL2809 this November. UL 2809 is a standard that defines the methods by which third parties verify self-declared percentages of recycled materials used by entities, based on ISO 14021. This is the first time that UL 2809 verification has been completed for fluoropolymer PTFE resin worldwide. This grade, which is widely used in the semiconductor industry, is the first in the AGC product lineup to have the verification completed. AGC plans to expand the verification to other fluoropolymer products in the near future.

Continental has been re-elected as Co-Chair of the Tire Industry Project (TIP) until 2029. Continental will continue to contribute resources and its long-standing expertise, especially in the areas of tire and road wear particles, end-of-life tires, sustainability assessment methods, and supply chain transparency. TIP is the global tire industry’s central forum for sustainability issues. As one of the founding members of TIP, Continental has been working with other leading global tire manufacturers since 2005 to address overarching environmental and sustainability issues affecting the tire industry.
