Shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meetin of Akzo Nobel N.V. overwhelmingly voted in favor of all resolutions related to the proposed all-share merger with Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. (“Axalta”).

The resolutions adopted at the EGM include the approval of the Merger, the amendment of the Articles of Association, the authorization to issue shares in connection with the Merger, the proposed appointments to the Board of Directors and the proposed remuneration policy.

Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation announced that it installed a floating photovoltaic power generation system on the regulating reservoir within its Hiroshima Plant, and the system has started supplying renewable energy-generated electricity. This project has been organized using the on-site PPA format.

NEXEN TIRE announced that it is supplying its N’FERA Sport as OE tires for the new Audi A6 premium sedan. The tires are fitted in both 18- and 19-inch specifications.

H.B. Fuller Company confirmed receipt of an unsolicited proposal from Ancora Holdings Group to acquire its Building Adhesives Solutions (“BAS”) business for between $1.1 billion and $1.2 billion in cash.

Although Ancora previously expressed a passing verbal interest in BAS, the letter received today, simultaneous to the news being made public, represents the first offer that Ancora has made for this business.

From Monday, 17 August, the Bunbury operation will officially become part of Fennell Tyres International, strengthening its presence and service capabilities across the region.

LANXESS is making its production at the Krefeld-Uerdingen site more sustainable. The specialty chemicals company will use hydrogen instead of natural gas to dry its iron oxide pigments. This will make the spray dryer one of the first large-scale industrial plants in Germany to use hydrogen as a fuel in continuous operation. LANXESS will thereby reduce its carbon footprint by about 6,000 metric tons per year.
