Bridgestone Retail Operations, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas, invited military communities at Fort Campbell, KY; Joint Base Andrews, MD; and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, to special celebrations marking 30 years of partnership with Army & Air Force Exchange Service (the “Exchange”). Bridgestone currently serves the nation’s military and their families at more than 40 tire & automotive service centers located on military bases in collaboration with the Exchange, which provides quality, tax-free merchandise, goods and services that military communities need, regardless of location, risk or challenge.

Arkema participated in its first volunteer event as an official partner of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia. Arkema employees, led by their regional manager Tony O’Donovan, joined Habitat’s professional contractors to work on a home which is part of a 21 affordable homes project. Through its three-year sponsorship with Habitat Philadelphia, Arkema will provide a total of $330,000 in funding, donate its sustainable building products and offer its technical expertise, and contribute employee volunteers to help build homes in addition to other programs to support Philadelphians

Safic-Alcan announced a significant expansion of its collaboration with DOW across the central and eastern European region. This extended partnership now covers territories including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Montenegro, reinforcing the distribution of DOW’s exceptional polyurethane range.

At its Nünchritz site, Wacker Chemie AG produces silicon-based chemical substances, including some 200 different silicone grades, pyrogenic silicas and hyperpure polycrystalline silicon for the solar industry. The plant also operates a cartridge-filling facility for silicone adhesives and sealants. The low-waste and energy-efficient closed-loop production complex continues to cut energy consumption and reduces the environmental impact of wastewater and emissions. Silicones and polysilicon from Saxony are exported all over the world.

Tires, another damaging waste stream in Puerto Rico; up to 18,000 tires being are disposed of daily on the island. The project aims to transform discarded tires into valuable resources, reduce landfill waste and contribute to a circular economy. There are significant import and export constraints on the island for plastics. By harnessing advancements in recycling technologies and circular design principles, the partners seek to make plastic recycling viable in Puerto Rico to reduce plastic waste issue and the island’s dependence on imports.

Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies recently presented its SEAL (Supplier Excellence Achievement Level) Awards to six vendors that provided outstanding service and support to the company during 2022. Freudenberg-NOK runs the business operations for Freudenberg Sealing Technologies in the Americas.
