Polish customs officials have intercepted a shipment of five metric tons of Boeing aircraft tires that were falsely declared as car and bus tires. The tires, originating from a company in Spain and destined for Azerbaijan, were scheduled to transit through Belarus and Russia—both under strict European Union sanctions.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced its business and financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025 (January to March 2025). Sales revenue increased 9.0％ over the same period of the previous year, to ¥275.1 billion, a record high for the first quarter. Profits, however, were lower than a year earlier. Business profit was ¥24.1 billion, a 3.2% year-on-year decline; operating profit was ¥19.3 billion, down 27.7%; and profit attributable to owners of parent totaled ¥8.5 billion, down 56.9%.
