The Rubber Division, ACS is seeking support to assist with covering several student’s hotel, meal and transportation costs at this year’s International Elastomer Conference. The number of students they can host depends on the amount of support received. Support from companies in our industry has provided the opportunity for us to host many undergraduate students at the International Elastomer Conference the past few year

Bosch Rexroth announced its President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory Gumbs will leave the company July 1, 2023. Gumbs, who joined the organization in late 2020 successfully led the increased growth of the North American region to record achievements, improved competitiveness in the region, and established a strong customer-focused and people culture.

The recovered carbon black in the tires of both cars comes from Enviro’s plant in Åsensbruk, Sweden, where end-of-life tires are given new life using the company’s patented pyrolysis technology. Michelin has previously introduced environmentally sustainable tires using recovered and renewable materials, but the tire that will be used on the Green GT Mission H24 this weekend sets a new record for the proportion of sustainable materials.

Ben Nosse recently joined Sovereign Chemical as Business Development Manager. Since 1974, Sovereign is a leading global supplier of chemicals to the tire and rubber industry.  Ben joins Sovereign Chemical from HEXPOL Compounding where he served as business development manager.

On Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM (ET) RDAbbott will host a free webinar titled “LSR Solutions for Compatibility with Fire Resistant Plastics” about new and innovative materials from Dow lead by Dr. Jessica Ding and Dr. Noel Chang.

The joint venture was formed by Enviro and Antin Infrastructure Partners to establish the world’s first large-scale tire recycling company based on Enviro’s technology. As previously announced, the joint venture is planning to establish plants across Europe by 2030 with a total recycling capacity of one million tons of end-of-life tires per year.

Monica Buchanan was promoted to Sales, Marketing and Technical Senior Administrator at Harwick Standard Distribution. Harwick President and CEO Ernie Pouttu says Buchanan՚s new title reflects the key areas she handles for Harwick, and the support she provides for these most important aspects of the business.
Helen Potirakis is now a Senior Product Manager for Harwick, handling key suppliers to the company, and taking on additional suppliers.
Pouttu expressed his appreciation to Andreana Gonzalez for her “willingness and enthusiasm on taking on some supplier responsibilities.” Pouttu additionally thanked Cris Welch, Bryan Shields, Mike McCarty and Chuck Bonawitz for their increased roles with the Harwick supplier base.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that on March 27 it held its 9th Panel Discussion on Biodiversity as an online event. Panelist Dr. Shinichi Takagawa, General Manager of the OECM Task Force Office of the Nature Conservation Society of Japan, and moderator Dr. Tetsuya Kitazawa, Director of Ecology Path Inc. and Lecturer at Edogawa University, actively exchanged views with employees of Yokohama Rubber on the theme of “Our Conservation Activities to Contribute to Global Goals: Making Use of OECM.”
