Dow received 5 awards in the annual U.S. Customer Experience Awards for 2023. USCXA™, hosted by Awards International in partnership with the Customer Experience Professionals Association, celebrates America’s most outstanding customer experience initiatives and honors companies who have demonstrated exemplary service and customer-centricity.

Yokohama Rubber filed an administrative complaint and submitted information to the Administration for Market Regulation in Foshan, Guangdong Province, regarding five companies engaged in the distribution of counterfeit sports car aluminum wheels imitating YOKOHAMA’s “ADVAN Racing” wheels. The distributors were selling the counterfeit wheels via internet shopping sites and retail shops outside of the Company’s official distribution channels. Acting on the complaint and information provided by the Company, the Foshan authorities simultaneously raided the five companies and seized the counterfeit aluminum wheels on January 11, 2023. Yokohama Rubber has confirmed that all five distributors have been fined and the counterfeit aluminum wheels have been destroyed.

Novation Solutions, LLC (NovationSi), the manufacturing subsidiary for R.D. Abbott Co., Inc. (RDAbbott), has named Brian Swanton as Director of Process Engineering. Swanton holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technology University and has over 28 years of silicone experience, including extensive service with Dow and Dupont. Swanton holds multiple patents and has developed or scaled up at least forty products, which now represent a minimum of $100M in annual sales.

PBC Linear (Pacific Bearing Company) announcef that its Applied Cobotics Cobot Feeder, a CNC machine feeding application kit which delivers and stages parts to be placed into a machining process, has received Universal Robots+ (UR+) partner certification from Universal Robots (UR).
PBC Linear’s Applied Cobotics Cobot Feeder includes a base storage and retrieval unit with a UR cobot pedestal, an enclosed steel rack dunnage tower with a 17-tray capacity that safely stores up to 50 pounds of material, an HMI touch screen display for easy lift control, Ethernet IP, Modbus, and standard UR cobot communications.

The Detroit Rubber Group announces this year’s Fishing Derby being held at the Toledo Beach Marina in La Salle, MI on Thursday, July 13, at 6:30am. The boat is scheduled to depart at 7:00am and return at noon.

Teknor Apex announced a new color masterbatch solution for UBQ Materials’ bio-based thermoplastic, UBQ™. Expanding its partnership with the climate-tech developer, Teknor Apex’s new solution includes the development and supply of highly chromatic colors that incorporate UBQ’s sustainable products made entirely from unsorted organic and unrecyclable waste.

Teknor Apex is announcing that it acquired the business of Nu-Pro Polymers, Inc (Wheeling, IL) late last year. Nu-Pro works with clean post-industrial (PIR) streams and converts them into new PVC compounds which perform equivalently to prime compounds. Nu-Pro specializes in clear, natural and black reprocessed compounds in a range of durometers. Under the acquisition, Nu-Pro will continue to produce products for Teknor Apex at this time, under the Cycle-Tek brand as a subsidiary of Teknor Apex.

Solvay has won the 2022 Chinese Enterprises Carbon Neutrality Performance Low-Carbon Technology Innovation Award. The award recognizes the Group’s global efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, which are guided by its Solvay One Planet sustainability roadmap.
